This vibrant parish embraces diversity and offers a wide array of over 40 ministries and organizations. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church stands as one of the most spiritually enriching Catholic churches in Garland. It is worth noting that Good Shepherd Catholic Church, which currently serves as a spiritual home for 600 Roman Catholic families in Garland, had come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1923 when the Catholic population in the area consisted of just three individuals. The magnificent stained-glass window installations, including one that depicts Christ as the good shepherd, are noteworthy among the church's awe-inspiring features. During the three-hour dedication ceremony, the beautiful edifice, crafted with a harmonious blend of wood, stone, and marble in an open design, was unveiled to the community. The expansive 21,712 square-foot church boasts seating for 1,340 individuals, a significant expansion from the original structure built in 1954. In 1953, a visionary group of 200 Catholic families embarked on a mission to construct a church, school, and auditorium. Established in 1946, the church embarked on a remarkable journey. Good Shepherd Catholic Parish is one of Garland's most exquisite churches.
